The author suggests Bain's Chess Tactics for Students, Winning Chess Tactics by Seirawan, among other good books. I now have acquired Predator at the Chessboard (from Lulu press) and I think it meets me right where I am. Most of the tactics books I have had have just been too hard and over my head, so that I struggle with the solution and still don't really absorb it.
